Our farm fresh eggs come from happy hens raised on pasture. Their diet is supplemented with quality high protein feed that contains whole vegetables and grains. Their feed is also fortified with vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that help these hens produce wholesome tasty eggs.
Here at Maroon Grove we are striving to be better land stewards. This is why our chickens free range and have access to fresh pasture regularly. There are many benefits to free ranging poultry such as nutritionally dense eggs, eggs richer in flavor, natural pest control, and soil aeration.
Our livestock guardian dog Sammy contributes to the well being of our hens by keeping them safe from predators additionally creating a low stress environment for the hens.
Eggs can be picked up directly from the farm, in downtown Hopewell at the Hopewell Farmers Market or the RVA Black Farmers Market located at Shalom Farms. Please email us to order and coordinate pick up maroongrovefarm@gmail.com.
